One of the new kids on the block in Division 1 Adelaide Summer League, the Vipers had to prove they had what it took in Division 1. The Vipers had recruited several high grade inline hockey players (who adapted quickly to ice) to add to their already talented pool and therefore were a formidable team in 2020-2021. Finishing the season as minor premiers, they then accounted for the Flyers in the semi-finals to face the Wolves who had sent the Bears back to the woods and out of the grand final race. After winning Game 1 of the best-of-3 Grand Final series the Vipers were poised to take home the cup, unless the Wolves could perform some snake charming tactics and send the series to Game 3.
A high loopy shot from Vipers Zac Searle somehow landed behind the Wolves goaltender to open their campaign. The Vipers added another goal in the first period to extend their lead. The Wolves found themselves in penalty trouble which didn’t help their cause, but they managed to peg one back. The Vipers added another though and with that took out the 2020-2021 ASL Division 1 Championship.
