In the early game, the Huskies (blue) took on the Jets (red) in Pee Wee Division 1, with these two teams the only teams in Division 1. It was a very even and entertaining game, with the Huskies scoring first through Ilya Truuse, with about 1:35 remaining in the first period. The Jets would tie up the game with 14:20 remaining in the 2nd period with Luka Loria scoring, unassisted. The Jets would then score a go-ahead goal at 9:31, only for the Huskies to level the score only a minute later (gamesheet too fuzzy for details, sorry). The score remained the same for the rest of the period as neither team could break through the other’s defence and past the goal tenders. The 3rd period was equally hard fought, but it was the Jets that would go ahead again with about 6mins remaining in the period. This time however the Huskies could not equalise and resorted to calling a time out late in the game. Goaltender Riley Knapp was dragged off for an extra attacker but the Jets held firm and came away with the win in this highly entertaining clash.
Pee Wee Division 2 comprises 3 teams and the play two 22 minute period games each to give each team a game against each opposition team on the day. Pee Wee Div2 Huskies played the Jets first up and it was extremely tight. An interference penalty was handed out to Huskies Ella Wandel less than a minute into the game, followed by a tripping minor to Jets Lachlan Cooper less than a minute later. The Jets would score first with 9:38 remaining in the 1st period with Adam Mojzicek scoring from assists from Eleanor Barter and Lachlan Cooper, however the Huskies retaliated with a goal of their own less than a minute later with Ella Wandel scoring the goal after an assist from Phoenix Hansen. The 2nd period was scoreless so that game ground down to a deadlocked 1-1 draw at the final buzzer.
The other two Pee Wee games were between Hornets (yellow) and Jets first with the Jets winning 1-0, before the last game between Huskies and Hornets with the Huskies winning 1-0.
