More Wednesday 28/04/2021 Adelaide ice hockey action from the Ice Arena. Premier League Tigers took on the Falcons. Premier League is stacked with AIHL Adelaide Adrenaline players. The Tigers started off the scoring but not before 6mins had elapsed as neither team found a way forward. Jai Sarcich got one past Falcons goaltender Matus Trnka after assists from captain Andrew Stapleton and Joey MacDougall. Tigers MacDougall gave the Falcons a chance to level the score with a powerplay after heading to the penalty box for tripping. The Falcons eventually levelled the score with 4:36mins remaining with hard working Joshua Keane scoring from a Henry Keane assist.
The Tigers didn’t take long, in fact 1min, to add their 2nd goal when Ryan Foll scored, with the assists going to Jan Koubek and Stapleton. Tigers Tyler Boyle then added another with 11mins to go in the period with assists from Ryan Foll and MacDougall. They then stamped their authority on the game with 7:48 remaining as Stapleton scored a captain’s goal with MacDougall adding another point to his tally for the night for the assist. The Falcons were unable to get on the scoreboard again and this wasn’t helped when goaltender Trnka was deemed to have tripped the Tigers forward coming in to goal like a bull at a gate. The Falcons would need to dig deep to match the strength of the Tigers.
No more than 24secs into the 3rd period the Tigers Ryan Foll would add more misery to the Falcons as he scored past Trnka with assists to Brandon Taylor and his dad Glen Foll. Then Taylor would score one of his own a bit over a minute later, this time Ryan Foll giving him the assist along with Ben Gebert, to now have a 5 goal margin. With 13:56mins remaining in the period the crowd were treated to a fight between Tigers Jai Sarcich and Falcons captain Andrew Zolotarev. Sarcich was deemed the instigator so headed to the out of the game with a 25min plus 2min penalty, and Zolotarev for 25min. Tigers Tyler Boyle would add another goal with 8mins remaining after a second assist from Gebert for the night. Final score Tigers 7 in a dominant display over the Falcons 1. Shots on goal: Tigers Glenn Forbes-White facing 19 shots, and Trnka facing a staggering 46 shots, with 22 alone in the 2nd period.
