Sunday morning’s early Pee Wee game saw Division 1 Huskies against the Jets. The Huskies had Brodie Clarke as goaltender being promoted from Division 2 with the absence of regular goal tender Riley Knapp. In goals for the Jets was Zac Mirfin. The Jets were out of the blocks scoring early against the new goal tender when Lachlan Henly scored after an assist from the hard working Yongen Song. They added another shortly after when goaltender Clarke couldn’t sight the puck with defenders in his vision and a deflection into the goals as a result. Goal scorer was Luka Loria with an assist from Etienne Janovsky. The Jets stamped their authority on the game with another goal less than a minute later as the Huskies were hammered in this cold, early game. Goal scorer was Loria again after an assist from Jordan Kutsche (yay) and Jasmine Chen. A tripping penalty to Henly gave the Huskies an opportunity but they weren’t able to penetrate the Jets defence and quick glove of goaltender Mirfin.
The Huskies did however find a way past in the 2nd period with 7:22 remaining when Gabriel Koudelka scored, unassisted. The Huskies Loria headed to the bench for a 2min break for roughing.
The 3rd period saw the Jets add another with 11:41 remaining as Yongen Song was rewared for his hard work in the neutral zone, with the assist coming from Loria, scoring 3 points for the game. Shots on goal were Huskies Clarke facing 22, and Jets Mirfin facing 18.
