30/08/2025 – IHSA Winter League A Grade – Redwings v Falcons 4-3

Selected photos from the Ice Hockey South Australia (IHSA) A Grade Senior Winter Club game between runaway top of the table leaders Redwings and Falcons playing on 30/08/2025 at the Ice Arena, Adelaide, South Australia.  The Falcons had several junior players, Mickey Nottle, Jeremy Gagnon, Elana Holub, Anika Wegund which would be up against the experience of the Redwings and Jarrad Chester, Jeff Pellerin, Bill Newbound and Mark Godfrey.  Junior Riley Knapp would be in between the pipes for the Redwings, and Victoria Kellett for the Falcons.  The sides appeared relatively matched and then Elana Holub would score the first goal of the game with 7mins remaining in the first period (assist Nottle).  Jarrad Chester would tie up the game less than a minute later (assists Pellerin, Cameron Cook).  With just over a minute remaining in the period, Redwings Mitchell Penberthy would put the Redwings one-up (assist Jared Lowe).  Shots on goal for the period: Falcons 7, Redwings 6.

The 2nd period saw no scores added despite penalties hand out to Falcons Nottle (delay of game at 18:04), Redwings Pellerin (roughing at 7:48) and Falcons Holub (roughing at 3:21).  Shots on goal for the period: Falcons 8, Redwings 2.

Five minutes into the 3rd period Falcons Jeremy Gagnon would tie up the score (assists Pierre Binette, Nottle).  Anika Wegund would receive a body-checking penalty at 14:06 giving the Redwings the powerplay but it would be Falcons Nottle scoring a go-ahead goal, unassisted, at 12:52 on a powerplay (Redwings Cook, holding).  Jarrad Chester would again show his experience and tie the game up again at 11:54 (assist Cook).  Jeff Pellerin would put the Redwings up by one at 9:17 (assist Bodie Henderson) and that’s how the score would end, despite 2 more penalties to the Falcons (Mitchell Brown, kneeing at 4:30, and Henry Schiansky, hooking at 1:11).  Shots on goal for the period: Redwings 6, Falcons 4.
