Some photos from the Unicorns vs Titans Adelaide Summer League Division 1 and Division 2 ice hockey games played on 5/11/2025. The photos are primarily of the Unicorns, which I’m a part of.
First up is the Division 2 game, which I was playing in, in defence, but had to leave the game in the 1st period with a tendon/hamstring injury. Game photos are taken by Karen Kutsche (2nd period) and myself (3rd period). This game was “top of the table” clash with the Unicorns playing the 2nd placed Titans going into this crucial game. With their defence compromised, the Unicorns had to shuffle a forward player back to help cover “D”. A short Unicorns bench also meant it was going to be long, hard game for the Unicorns against their traditionally hard finals rivals. In the end, the Titans took the points with a 4-2 win, and the two teams swapped spots on the Div2 ladder at that time. Goal scorers were: Titans – Daisy Fryer, Styeve Berkes, Adam Bootes, Jet Edwards-Hough; Unicorns – Joel O’Brien and Bonnie Mechan. Shots on goals were: Titans 36 shots to Unicorns 19 shots. After results from the following Sunday’s games, the Unicorns Div2 team have dropped to 3rd on the ladder.

Following on from the Div2 game, the two teams’ Div1 teams met (as Div1 and Div2 teams are played on the same day). This season the Unicorns had started strong, edging out their oppositions in close low-scoring games. This game was tight again, with no score recorded by the 1st break. The Titans eventually won 2-1, completed the double with both their teams winning. Goal scorers were: Titans – Riley Cullen and Jaryd Osborne, Unicorns – Paul (Pavel) Hruby. Shots on goal were: Titans 32 shots, to Unicorns 21. The Unicorns Div1 team after two back-to-back losses, dropped to 3rd on the Div1 ladder.
