Selected photos from some Ice Hockey South Australia Winter Season Ice Hockey games played on 5/07/2026 at the Ice Arena, Adelaide, South Australia. This year marks the 60th year anniversary for the original 4 teams, Blackhawks, Falcons, Redwings and Tigers Ice Hockey Teams that began playing at the diminutive Hindley Street St Moritz Rink. Fifth team Jokers are the first new Ice Hockey club in Adelaide in over 50 years (approximately 10 years old). Games featured here are A Grade Blackhawks v Falcons and B Grade Blackhawks v Jokers.
A Grade – Blackhawks v Falcons 2-4
The Falcons came out of the blocks all fired up, scoring 2 goals within the first 2 minutes on Blackhawks goaltender Ethan Acres. Goal scorers were Jeremy Gagnon (assists Anika Wegund, Mickey Nottle), and Joel Bathe (assists Napier Rathbun, Mitchell Brown). The chase was on for the Blackhawks but they fell foul of the referee Connor Oxlad, with Chad Wilson in the penalty box for interference. Didn’t matter as Tyson Boyd scored shorthanded to get the Hawks on the board (assists Troy Collins, Chad Wilson). Falcons Mickey Nottle would restore the 2 goal margin at 4:41 on a powerplay (assist David Lefort) as the Hawks faced more penalty pain. With 30secs to go in the period Nick Colasante would reduce the margin back to one goal (assist Chad Wilson). Shots on goal for the period: Blackhawks 9, Falcons 6. Second period saw no goal scored, with shots on goal in favour of the Blackhawks 7-4. The 2nd period had referee Connor Oxlad busy with the whistle, 3 penalties to Blackhawks players and 3 to the Falcons.
The last period saw a single goal scored, to Falcons Joel Bathe on a powerplay (assists Napier Rathbun, Geoff Capes). A plethora of penalties occurred with 4 to the Falcons and 3 to the Blackhawks. Shots on goal saw the Falcons dominate 8 shots to 2.

B Grade – Blackhawks v Jokers 3-2
The Blackhawks, sitting on top of the ladder in B grade were playing the bottom team, the Jokers. In goals for the Blackhawks was Ollie Arbon, and for the Jokers, Callum Coffee. The Blackhawks were the first to score but it took until the 6min mark. Goal scorer was Michael Harris (assists Yaroslav Muzychka and Arjuna Ravindran). Forty seconds late Nick Bowe scored the Blackhawks 2nd goal (assist Yaroslav Muzychka). There were no penalties in the period. Shots on goal for the period: Blackhawks 10, Jokers 4).
The second period saw no goals scored, despite 2 penalties handed out – Blackhawks Joel Osborn for cross-checking, and Jokers Samuel Vollerin-Quinn for roughing. Shots on goal for the period: Blackhawks 10, Jokers 3.
An early slashing penalty to Jokers Arjuna Ravindran was seen off by his penalty kill unit. His team mate, the big Aaron Collier’s interference penalty did not result in a change to the score. At the 8:46 mark of the 3rd period Blackhawks Davis Irvin-Speck scored their 3rd goal to set up a 3-goal lead (assist Matt Bagalene). Forty seconds late Jokers Ali Bayani got past the ‘Hawks defence and put his team on the board, unassisted. The Jokers weren’t done yet. David Wright would score with 3min 44secs remaining in the period so it could down to the wire. Assists were Olivier Beauvais and Aaron Collier. A late penalty to Blackhawks Joel Osborn for holding the stick with 2mins to play gave the Jokers are real chance to tie up the game. However it would not be and the Blackhawks would win 3-2 in a tight one. Shots on goal for the period: Jokers 10, Blackhawks 8.
