10/05/2023 B Grade Grand Final Game1 – Tigers v Blackhawks 5-0

The first of the best of 3 Grand Final games in Adelaide B grade ice hockey was played on 5/10/2023.  The grand final series was between the Tigers and the Blackhawks.  The Tigers dominated the game with plenty of aggression to shut out the Blackhawks to the tune of 5-0.  Goal scorers for the Tigers was the much experienced Brenton Letherby with a hat trick, with Napier Rathbun chiming in for two breakaway unassisted goals.  The assists for Letherby’s goals came from son Josh (2), Rathbun (1) and Will Dobud (1).  The Blackhawks had found themselves in plenty of penalty trouble with 7 of the 8 penalties dished out, with James Manna getting 3 of those.   The Blackhawks cause wasn’t helped by their goaltender Charlie Wragg breaking his stick and not having a spare, with the team mates frantically sourcing another.  The Blackhawks had put as many shots on goal as the Tigers (24-22) but couldn’t find a way past the Tigers netminder Paul Kluske.
