More Adelaide Winter Club Ice Hockey action. This game was between the Falcons and the Tigers. I didn’t realise that one of my inline hockey team mates, Max Coleman was playing his first ice hockey game back for the Falcons after a while out. The first period was a see-saw affair, similar to the Premier League Blackhawks v Jokers just played before. Tigers Spiro Mougios would open the scoring at 15:35 (assist Connor Oxlad), but Falcons Max Coleman struck back less than a minute later at 14:43 (assists Yuriy Solomanov and Scott Cureton). Scott Cureton would put the Falcons ahead a bit over 2mins later with an assist from Dave Castledine. Then at 8:52 Tigers Brenton Letheby evened the score (assist Andy Young).
The second period saw only one goal scored, that of Falcons Max Coleman, putting on a show, unassisted. The two penalties, Falcons Kevin Taylor (tripping at 14:26) and Tigers Spiro Mougios (hooking at 3:37) saw no changes to the score.
The third period was close with neither team able to break through. Not, until Tigers Andy Young found the back of the net at 8:28 (assist Jamie Lewis). With the clock starting to wind down, Hayden Brice scored unassisted to put the Falcons up by one (3:32 mark). The Tigers threw everything at the Falcons and were rewarded when Brenton Letheby scored unassisted to tie up the scores with 50secs remaining in the game. However, Falcons Nat Ayris (Adelaide Rush player) received a pass from Max Coleman to put the Falcons noses ahead when it counted and they came away with the points and closer to the Tigers just above them on the ladder. Shots on goal were in favour of the Tigers 37 to Falcons 31.
