Friday night C Grade – No Regretzkys v Pelicans 6-7

The C grade games are played as two 20min halves.  The No Regretzkys would be without some of the regular players and therefore a short bench, whereas the Pelicans only had a late withdrawal and lost a player for the rest of the reason during the week.  In goals for the No Regretzkys was Nikki Kogan and for the Pelicans, Jase Hill.

A mere 50secs into the game Frank Kutsche received a pass from Mike Crowhurst, had a shot on goal close in, rebounded and Jordan Kutsche squeezed the puck under Kogan’s pads for the Pelicans 1st goal.  At the 14:32 mark experienced goaltender, now also player, Matt Brooksy Brooks evened the score with the assist coming from Zac Rayniak.  A bit over 4mins left in the period and Pelicans Zeth Lendjer scored from a Mike Crowhurst assist, and with 2mins remaining Max Coleman put the Pelicans 2 goals up (assist Lendjer).

In the 2nd period, Zeth Lendjer extended the lead further as the Pelicans tried to put a stamp on the game.  Assist came from Jordan Kutsche.   However, the No Regretzkys regrouped and Rob Koudelka pegged one back at the 13:33 mark, unasissted.  Zac Rayniak would then get the No Regretzkys within one goal a minute later, stunning the Pelicans (assist from Brooksy).  Things would be all tied up at the 10:59 mark as the No Regretzkys found their mojo, as Raynial scored again (assist Rob Koudelka).  Photos: Karen Kutsche

 

Sunday A grade – Crocs v Wombats 9-2

A grade games are played as two 20min periods.  New A grade team Wombats were up against it as the Crocs dominated with a solid 9-2 win.  No fights at the end of the game this time.  Goals went to: Crocs Julie Schultz (hat trick in the 1st period), Dylan Pope (hat trick), Jeff Pellerin 2 goals, Andrew Glass 1 goal.  Wombats goals were scored by Rohan Grantham and Quentin Tombleson.  Shots on goal: Crocs 27, Wombats 16.

 

Sunday B grade – Falcons v Rockstars 5-2

B grade games are played four 12min periods.  The Rockstars faced an uphill battle against the new look Falcons team, with many new faces being Gawler players. Falcons goaltender Rory Moffat was on song as he stopped shot after shot despite the Rockstars dominating the shot count.  Goaltender for the Rockstars was Jase Hill.  Goals scored for the Falcons: Matt Vickery 2 goals, Ben Carey 2 goals, Louis Nikoloc, and for the Rockstars singles to Isaac Miller and Max Leong.  Shots on goal: Falcons 15, Rockstars 27.
