14/06/2026 AIHL Adelaide Adrenaline v Canberra Brave 4-6

Selected photos from the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) game between the Adelaide Adrenaline and the Canberra Brave (formerly CBR Brave) played on 14/06/2026 at the Ice Arena, Adelaide, South Australia.  After losing two imports and releasing Josh Adkins to Melbourne Ice, the Adrenaline had acquired import Kolby Johnson from Perth Thunder and import Tucker Scantlebury and the very recent addition of returning import Coy Prevost.  Cale Dolan was still unavailable for goaltender duties so Jeremy Friederich would be back between the pipes, with Riley Knapp (recent spare goaltender for the Sydney Bears) as the reserve.  In goals for the second game of the weekend for the Brave was the huge Joel Hasselmann.  Another raucous sellout crowd was there again to cheer on the Adrenaline amongst a sprinkling of Brave fans making the trip over.

The Brave again dominated the first period and “set the tone” although it took until the 8:37 mark to score the first goal of the game.  Casey Kubara would score the first 2 goals (assists in both going to Jake Radcliffe and Peter Bates), before brother Bayley would add the Brave’s 3rd goal at 2:19 left to play in the period, only a minute after Casey’s 2nd goal (assists Casey Kubara, Jake Radcliffe).  However, the Adrenaline crowd went into a frenzy 8 secs later when Coy Prevost smashed one home from the blue line and past the screen and goaltender Hasselman and put the Adrenaline on the board.  Shots on goal for the period: Brave 15, Adrenaline 10.

A very late penalty in the 2nd period to Carson Miller for boarding gave the Adrenaline the powerplay and Tucker Scantlebury powered his way forward to crash the net and give the Adrenaline their 2nd goal at 19:18 (assist Coy Prevost).  At 12:45, Jake Ratcliffe would restore the Brave’s 2 goal advantage.  The 4 penalties in the period did not result in any goals.  Shots on goal for the period: Adrenaline 11, Brave 5.

Tucker Scantlebury was to repeat his fast charge after the period break as he again scored seconds into the period (19:25 mark) and the home crowd went bunta with the Adrenaline closing within one goal with the score now 3-4.  However, the Brave would strike back at 12:45 to regain the 2 goal buffer as Jake Ratcliffe scored with the assists coming from Casey Kubara and Peter Bates.  The period started to wind down and the Adrenaline dug deep with Kolby Johnson and Tucker Scantlebury combining to get to get the puck onto goal where it came loose in front of an open goal and out of goaltender Hasselman’s sight with Nathanial Benson pouncing and putting it into the back of the net.  Score now 5-4 in favour of the Brave but plenty of time left for the Adrenaline to score and send the game into overtime.  However, the Brave found a way to spoil the potential party as Jacob Carey slotted one home with 53secs remaining in the game (assists Carson Miller, Bayley Kubara).  Adrenaline’s Tucker Scantlebury took offence to his Brave opponent just after the puck drop at 0:43 on the clock and chaos reigned supreme as the referees gave him, not one, but 4 penalties!  Slashing (2mins), instigator (2mins), slashing (5mins) and unsportsmanlike conduct (10mins).  The “brave” Adrenaline had put up a fight against Canberra Brave but fell agonisingly short at the end.  Shots on goal for the period: Brave 9, Adrenaline 7).
