Some of the photos from the 2023 Adelaide Motorsport Festival, back again after a few years absence caused by Covid-19 and less support from government at the time. The event is a combination of sprint races and demonstrations laps run on a section of the Supercars/F1 circuit of Adelaide in Victoria Park and using Wakefield Street, and displays.
The event is run over 3 days, with the first day being practice laps and this year a street party in the Eastern end of the CBD of Adelaide, highlighting some of the feature cars to the public. Day 2 and 3 are proper sprint races featuring several categories of cars. The Saturday was a dry day, so that all categories were able to compete or demonstration laps completed including the 1960’s Brabham formula 1 car.
The Sunday saw a change in the weather, and the wet track meant that some categories could not run or be displayed as the cars only had slick tyres for the weekend. The public would miss out on seeing the Formula 1 cars and V8 Supercars as a result, except for the Leyton House Formula 1 car whose owners had the foresight to bring a set of intermediate tyres. Some of the other categories were run as alternatives, namely the Drift category.
