15/06/2025 AIHL Adelaide Adrenaline v Central Coast Rhinos 4-1

Some of the photos from the Australian Ice Hockey League game between the Adelaide Adrenaline and the Central Coast Rhinos played on 15/06/2025 at the Ice Arena, Adelaide, South Australia.  The Adrenaline were hoping to finally record their first home win of the season after facing plenty of stiff opposition so far.  The Adrenaline’s had shown the importance of their two recent imports to bolster their lines in the Saturday’s 7-2 win.  Cale Dolan would start in net for the Adrenaline with Sam Poole as standby goaltender.  The Central Coast Rhinos had experienced captain Robert Malloy return for this game.  Starting in goals again would be Justin Harrison, with local goaltender Cooper Davidson-Peacock as reserve.

With the addition of captain Malloy the Rhinos would have some extra grit and with this put up shot after shot on goal, much to the surprise of the Adrenaline home crowd, but goaltender Dolan withstood the barrage.  Adrenaline’s Joey MacDougall would head to the penalty box early, at 17:36 for tripping, giving the Rhinos a good chance to score first.  The Rhinos would then find themselves in penalty trouble as Scott Dewar was pinged for holding at 14:07.  It would take until the 11:40 mark before the first goal was scored, going to Adrenaline’s MacDougall (assists Daniel Chen, Kyle MacPhail).  Adrenaline’s Daniel Koudelka received a tripping penalty at 8:15 but there was no change to the score.  With 2:43 remaining, Adrenaline’s Romans Nekludovs would give the home team some breathing room with their 2nd goal (assist Nathanial Benson).  A late charging penalty to Adrenaline’s Darcy Flanagan resulted in no change to the score.  Shots on goal for the period was a total change from the night before with the Rhinos outscoring the Adrenaline 15 to 6!

There would be only one goal scored in the 2nd period and that was Coy Prevost for the Adrenaline at 16:45 (assists Nekludovs, Benson).  Penalties on the other hand would see 2 a piece, Adrenaline’s Flanagan for tripping and Remy McGuinness for roughing, and Rhinos Hayden Sayers for roughing, and Alexander Gauthier for tripping.  Shots on goal were Adrenaline 13 to Rhinos 9.

In the 3rd period with a bit over 5 minutes gone, Adrenaline’s Josh Adkins would extend their lead to 4 goals (assists Benson, Koudelka) to put the game almost out of the reach of the Rhinos.  The Adrenaline received 4 penalties in the period (Remy McGuinness for hooking, Ty Wright for tripping.  Zach Boyles for slashing and unsportsmanlike conduct) would be at the final buzzer.  The Adrenaline were heading for a shutout win, until Rhinos Tomas Landa spoiled the party, scoring with 29 seconds remaining in the game!  Assists came from Gauthier and Ryan Migliaccio.  Shots on goal for the game were almost even in the end, Adrenaline 34 to the Rhinos 32.  Importantly the Adrenaline were on the move, scoring the valuable double to stay in touch with the next teams above them on the ladder.
