Selected photos from the Blackwood Blaze Inline Hockey Club B Grade game between new team Pirates and the Rock Stars played on 29/03/2026 at the Blackwood Recreation Centre. With a short bench and a lack of experience in B grade the Pirates were up against it. They would have the services of experienced Joe Jeffries to guide them. Goaltender for the Pirates was Will Coulston, and for the Rock Stars, Chris Jose. Rocks Stars also had a new player in Thomas Volk. In this first B grade season it would be a learning curve for the new players on the Pirates, mostly C grade players giving it a go.
First goal of the game in the 1st period was scored by Rock Stars Andrew Weger (unassisted) at the 8:45 and a minute later by Isaac Miller, with Max Coleman chiming in for the 3rd goal at 5:25 (Shanon Prum having the assists on the last two). Shots on goal saw Rockstars fire off 20 shots, to the Pirates 4 shots. In the 2nd period Andrew Weger would score his 2nd goal one a fine tic, tac, toe play from the Rocks Stars (with assists going to Jordan Kutsche and Thomas Volk). Isaac Miller would also add his 2nd goal of the game respectively with Thomas Volk the assist. The half time break saw the Rock Stars up 5-0, but Pirates goaltender Will Coulston had started making some good saves. Shots on goal for the period, Rock Stars 10, Pirates 1.
The 3rd period saw Isaac Miller score his hat trick goal at the 7:35 minute mark, followed by Jordan Kutsche at the 6min mark (assists on both goals were Andrew Weger). At the 4min mark the Pirates broke the drought and avoided a shutout when Zac Rayniak scored off a Jade Severino assist. Three minutes later Andrew Weger would score his hat trick goal (assist Max Coleman). The Pirates had found something as they fired off 8 shots on goal, to the Rock Stars 12 shots. Isaac Miller and Max Coleman would add 2 more goals in the 4th period (assists Andrew Weger and Max Coleman, and Jordan Kutsche respectively). Shots on goal Rocks Stars 9, Pirates 5. Pirates goaltender Will Coulsen had faced 51 shots.
